Transforming nursing through knowledge: results of the Registered Nurses ’Association of Ontario (RNAO) good practice guide program

Abstract

The Good Practice Guidelines (BPG Program) was launched in 1999 by RNAO and was funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health. The purpose of this program, since its inception, has been to support nurses by providing evidence-based guidelines for patient care in various contexts and health sectors. With fifty-four guides in English and other languages inclusive, most of them translated into Spanish, their advice is provided free of charge to millions of nurses and other health professionals around the world (www.rnao.ca).
