Roots of Life
Abstract
Art can generate different perceptions, depending on who contemplates it. It is not the creator's exclusive property but also the observer's. Art germinates, is born, grows, and develops.
In this edition of MedUNAB, dedicated to maternal health, the interpretation of the cover will be unique for each observer (Figure 1). In this work, a uterus is introduced as the main subject, in black and white, based on patterns and elaborated with ink pen. The background, which is a digital creation, shows a gradient of lilac and green, colors that represent motherhood and life, respectively. Between these colors is a mosaic of orchids created with digital watercolor (Tayasui Sketches). The combination of physical and digital techniques - one created in 2012 and the other in 2024 - illustrates evolution and persistence over time.
