Peer Evaluation Process

Scientific peers external to the journal will preferably have a master or doctoral degree, whose field of work is related to the manuscript under evaluation and have produced at least one scientific publication in the last two years; In addition, the external peers consulted are researchers recognized by MINCIENCIAS-Colombia as Junior, Associate or Senior researchers, or will have an H5 Index equal to or greater than 2 for international external peers.

The review process by external scientific peers will be double-blind; The identity of the authors is not revealed to the peer reviewers, and neither is theirs to the authors. If the article is evaluated positively by one evaluator and negatively by another, a third party is appointed, and depending on the concept, the inclusion of the document in the publication is decided.

Based on the concepts of the peer reviewers, the Editorial Committee defines whether it will be published or not. The observations of the external evaluators will be communicated to the authors along with the concept of acceptance with adjustments, definitive acceptance, or rejection. Once the author receives the comments from the evaluators, he will proceed to answer each comment and incorporate the corresponding modifications into the text; recommendations that the author decides not to follow must be reasoned. Finally, the author must submit the new version of the article. This stage of the editorial process will take an average of three to five months, depending on the availability of the external peers, who carry out this work on an ad-honorem basis, and the time in which the authors apply the changes requested by the external peers.
