RFID: Applications, Challenges and Opportunities

Abstract

RFID is a technology that uses electromagnetic waves to data storage and retrieval, allowing a wide range of uses. The use of RFID systems allow the industry to take a transparent state control of objects in real time streamlining the operation of it. The implementation of RFID systems along with IoT deployments, revolutionary changes are reflected in human activity and its social environment, generating new ubiquitous environments. With the use of this technology it opens doors to new ways to bring control and traceability of products for companies from different sectors. This article presents a brief description of the operation of RFID systems and turn some cases existing market success is displayed. Finalizing future challenges and fields of study open space for further research concerning RFID systems will be displayed.
