Public-private partnership as tools of collaborative governance.
Notes for discussion and challenges for their management
Abstract
Public-private partnership (PPP) as tools of public action emerges in New Public management reforms. Over the past of decade has emerged collaborative governance to replace managerial modes of policy making this new context reframes this tool. This mode of governance brings multiple Stakeholders together –public agencies, private actors and civil society organizations- in consensus-oriented decision making. The currently challenges are to understand the place of PPP in this new context and aware the risks for their management related with their complexity, transparency, the role of key actors, and the democratic implications in their application.
