This new edition of the journal Reflexión Política brings a diversity of articles related to political studies, covering topics such as political communications, political leadership, international cooperation, the environment, and development, among others.

The journal starts out with an analysis by Ana María Fernández Poncela on the role of emotions during the presidential elections in late 2018, based on a quantitative and qualitative approach. In the same vein, the article by Álvaro López Bayona examines the discourse and rhetoric of Álvaro Uribe based on the logic of patriots and anti-patriots, from the perspective of populism. This block of articles concludes with the analysis of the political spots used during the Colombian congressional election campaign in 2018.  

The edition also includes analyses related to the environment and discussions on development, in which Angie Sánchez and Johan Barajas assess the impacts of mega-projects in important areas such as the Chingaza System in Bogotá, Colombia. Alfonso Barquin and Mariana García also provide a description of a ten-year-old political conflict in Huexca, Mexico, surrounding the construction of a hydroelectric power plant in the area.

Reflexión Política closes with studies on educational policies for rural entrepreneurship, in which Luis Rubén Pérez points out the need to take into consideration the context and specific needs of the rural sector, and an analysis by Paola Méndez and César Niño on the transformation on the notion of development in Spanish cooperation in Colombia, based on changes in the international agenda, moving towards a concern for peace, science and the social fabric.

            On behalf of the journal’s publishers, we thank the authors for choosing to publish in our magazine, as well as the peer reviewers of the articles. Clearly, without their participation, the Journal’s objectives would not be fulfilled.
